The Contract
Outline of our services:
Outline of the Process:
Florida Nuptials will quote rates based on a potential clients' inquiry of services and availability. Once a decision is made to book with our company, we will issue an invoice for a non-refundable deposit to secure the date. Once deposit is received, we email confirmation of receipt along with an attachment of ceremony choices & information sheet or an elopement link for the couple to get started on choices to personalize their ceremony. Usually there is plenty of time for the return of the completed information sheet, and we will email a reminder about a week prior to the event. The couple is responsible for obtaining a Florida Marriage License at any courthouse within the State, and can not bring a license from another state. Some counties in Tennessee are an exception and it is the couple's responsibility to check with the TN clerk of courts office to confirm the marriage license is valid for an out of state wedding. We ask for ID info with the bridal couple on our information sheet. It is not mandatory for the couple to provide the information in advance of their event if they are not comfortable with this. Checking the ID's on the information sheet is a courtesy we provide to get the couple to physically check their ID's prior to travelling to Florida. We also check the ID info in advance, based on past experiences where couples were unable to get a marriage license due to an expired ID. On the day of the event we require that you have the marriage license and ID's with you. We maintain a register of marriages for the State of Florida. After the wedding, the couple will sign the register and give a right thumbprint next to the signature. We use an inkless pad, similar to what banks use. We will file the completed license with the proper Clerk of Court and the legally filed document will be mailed to the couple from the Clerk's office. Many couples want to return to their home with the license in hand, and opt to file the license themselves so they can walk out of the Clerk's office with the legal copy. Let us know your preference of filing.
Cancellation or Postponed Event:
The initial deposit is non-refundable, as we secure your booking and prevent other potential clients from booking the same date and time. Florida Nuptials is not responsible for cancellation or postponement of your event due to acts of God, inclement weather, traffic issues, or other calamities. We do not offer refunds in the event of inclement weather or traffic issues, and request that bridal couples please have a back up plan for outdoor events involving weather issues. We will perform the ceremony in the same general area, same date and time at the back up location. We are more than willing to work with couples to reschedule the time or even the date within the same week if we are not booked for other events, and schedules of all parties will allow. Changes for rescheduling must be confirmed by email request. In the event of traffic issues, Florida Nuptials will remain in contact with clients to coordinate the estimated time of arrival. We will not be held responsible for unforeseen traffic accidents and traffic congestion that prevent us from arriving at the event. We make every attempt to accommodate for the potential of heavy traffic and leave early for all events.
The only exceptions for a cancellation or postponement is in the event of a hurricane / tropical storm, or an oil spill- in which the fairly accurate projected strike zone are usually not known of until 2-3 days prior to occurrence. Any path projection one or two weeks in advance of landfall is forecast speculation and usually proves to be inaccurate. The initial booking fee is non-refundable. Booking fees begin at $75 for officiation. A refund of additional payments made or rescheduling will be offered if either occurs.
We know things happen and plans can change. If you need to cancel less than 30 days but still plan to marry at a future date, we will gladly work with you to reschedule at no additional expense. If you postpone your event, all payments will be applied to the new event date within one year from the original scheduled date. Any remaining balance can be paid by the online invoice or cash on the day of the event.
Changes, Additions, Etc.
We offer unlimited email and phone support. There may be discussions by phone while we are en route to locations, out of the office, etc. where we are unable to write down the details of the conversations. All discussions between us need to be outlined or confirmed by email, so that there is a clear understanding between both parties of any changes, addition of services, etc.

Officiation Services - A ceremony performed on the day, at the time, and the location that are listed and returned on the information form. Any and all changes must be agreed to by both the Officiant and couple PRIOR TO THE WEDDING DAY and confirmed by email. An exception will be considered in the event of inclement weather, in which an alternative location in the same general area, time, and day will be acceptable. If all schedules allow, we will also consider a different time or date to avoid weather issues. We want you to have a beautiful wedding too, and will do our very best to make that happen. Many companies in the area do not offer this type of consideration. We will file the signed marriage license with the appropriate Clerk of Court office. A rehearsal is recommended for couples that have large wedding parties and need assistance with the details involved. The fee is $100 and rehearsals are scheduled around other events on the calendar.
- If the bridal couple plans to have the event at a resort, condo, or home rental, the couple is responsible for obtaining permission. There are a few resorts that charge extra for events, or require that you book events using their services & rates. Most do not. Public Beach Access Permits are not required for events held at these types of locations throughout the Bay County area.
- The bridal couple is responsible for choosing the location of their event within Bay County, and an event at their rental may not be an option. We can offer suggestions for alternative locations
- Due to time constraints and scheduling wedding ceremonies should start as close to the agreed upon time as possible, and no more than 15 minutes past that time. Ceremonies starting more than 15 minutes late will be assessed $25.00 for each 15 minutes. Late starts might cause scheduling problems for the officiant .
- The bridal couple is responsible for obtaining their Florida Marriage License at any court house within the State. The marriage license is not included in our rates or duties to the couple. Florida Nuptials will file the license with the appropriate Clerk of Courts office after the event unless the couple requests to file it themselves to expedite the process.
